Ready for Fall!

We are so ready for the fall weather and the holiday's that come with it. To kick off October we picked out a cute pair of pajamas, the ghosts even glow in the dark. Alex thinks that really cool. Check out his new Elmo slippers to go with it.

This past weekend we went camping at Ocean Pond with Uncle Jeremy, Aunt Erin, Stephen, Nick & Christa. We left early Saturday morning and had everything set up before lunch time. Here's Alex the next morning relaxing by the camp fire.

It's really good Uncle Jeremy & Aunt Erin love Alex so much, because all 5 of us slept in the camper. Me & Alex shared a twin size Aero bed, Johnny had his own twin size Aero bed, and Uncle Jeremy & Aunt Erin had mattresses on the floor. There was very little walking room at all, but we all managed very well. I was so proud of Alex, he went to sleep about 8:30 and slept till 7:00 the next morning. He could not wait for his Aunt & Uncle to wake up and play with him. It was like one big sleep over for him. We had such a good time.

Is she just not the cutest thing or what? This is one of our new neighbors and Alex's new play friend, Ki. Her family just moved from Texas a few months ago, she has two older brothers that Alex loves playing with too.

Have I mentioned how much my child likes to eat? It is absolutely amazing at how fast he can make the biggest messes with his food. He tries to use the spoon but realizes he can get the food to his mouth quicker if he just uses his hands. Thank goodness for Shout...

Not so little anymore......

Our little boy is so grown up now. Alex is almost 18 months old now and it still seems like yesterday we were bringing him home from the hospital. I look forward to every moment I get to spend with him. I still let him fall asleep in our bed every night, I lay down with him until he goes to sleep and then we move him to his bed. He's a good cuddler, I cherish those moments with him because I know there will be a time when he won't want to cuddle with his mommy, he'll think he's too big to do that.

Alex still loves his bathtime. All I have to do is mention bath and he takes off running to his bathroom, ready to take off his clothes. For some reason here lately he likes to put his stool in the bath with him, as you can see in some of the pictures.

UP........DOWN......UP........DOWN

This is one of Alex's latest tricks, Grandma has taught Alex the difference between Up & Down.......you raise your arms above your head.........

And then take them down to the floor.....such a smart little cookie....

Uncle Jeremy is always good for entertainment. Alex loves playing with "emery".

He also loves to cuddle with Aunt "Ewin".

Girls Night Out
Don't worry we didn't get too out of hand...HA HA. It's kind of sad that when I get a chance to go out with the girls, I'm looking at my watch at 9:30 pm thinking...okay it's almost bedtime, time to go. Ten years ago, we would just start getting ready at 9:30 to go out, well not anymore, those days are long over.

NANOOOOOOOOO!!
Alex got his very own Nano the other day from Daddy. He's going to pick up all kinds of girls with that, watch out Emma! We still have no idea where he got the word Nano so that is what we all now call any bicycle or motorcycle. It's funny though because we all know what we're talking about when we say it.

How do you keep a toddler occupied in a hospital? Well, luckily there was a little play area we could use for a while. Grandma had surgery last week in Gainesville to repair a brain aneurysm, everything went very well and she got to come home the next day. Me, Johnny, Alex, Uncle Jeremy & Aunt Erin went to Gainesville Wednesday after work, Grandma didn't get into her room till after 9:00 p.m. so we only got to see her for a quick minute before we had to go. We then went to find something to eat, nothing really sounded good, so we stopped at Domino's and ordered two pizzas, we all sat in the Suburban and had a pizza party!! We didn't get home till 12:30 a.m. Alex fell asleep before we even got out of Gainesville, luckily I had brought his pajamas and already changed him, he didn't even wake up when we took him out of the truck and put him in bed. He had had such a long day.

Happy Birthday Aunt Ewin!!
We all helped her celebrate at P.F. Chang's, then the next day her & Uncle Emery flew to the Bahamas for a long weekend at the Atlantis.

Ready to go to work in the coal mines...

Such a sweet little boy, my heart just melts.....

Ghetto style....as long as he doesn't decide to wear his pants down below his butt I can live with this.

Some Big Shoes to Fill

At the rate that Alex is growing it won't be long before he does fill his daddy's shoes. He has a fascination with shoes, it's hilarious. He will go into our closet and actually come out with the matching pair and practically forces us to put them on. Johnny now has Alex trained to take off his socks when he gets home in the afternoon - just like Dillon.

Catching Up

I hadn't realized it had been so long since I posted anything, sorry about that. Where does the time go?
Alex turned 17 months today! Sometimes I feel like he should still be a little baby, time just goes by so fast now. I cherish the days when he relied on me for everything but at the same time I love watching him be his own person and figure things out on his own. It's amazing how his little brain works. He actually listens to me when I tell him to do something (well, not all the time). He tries to repeat everything we say, don't worry we're being careful, he even makes up his own words, i.e. bicycle = nano. We have no idea where he got that word, but that is what he calls any bicycle or motorcycle.
We also can't forget our other child, Dillon. As you can tell from the picture below he still gets the royal treatment in our house.

How dirty can one child get in the matter of 3 minutes? Literally, it only took about 3 minutes, I feel like a cloud a dust should be swarming him when he goes outside. He loves to pick up dirt and bring it to me or daddy. He also likes to pick out the tiny pebbles and put them in his mouth, luckily he's never swallowed one (yet).

I went into the bedroom only for a few short minutes, I could hear some paper like rumbling, so I walk in to the kitchen and find Alex standing in the kitchen chair where he had taken the Cheerio bag out of the box and turned it upside down. You know how all of the sugar and crumbs fall to the very bottom of the bag, well as you can see it is all over the table. He then took his hand and wiped it back and forth through the crumbs so it was all over the floor and window sill as well. He had a pretty good time to say the least.

Johnny had put this rhino hat on and Alex thought it was the funniest thing. Johnny would make a rhino noise so Alex kept trying to make it too. It was hilarious.

Then Alex wanted to wear the hat.

Alex's new hairstyle!! You like?

OCEAN POND
We went back to Ocean Pond a few weekend's ago when Aunt Amy & Uncle Chris were in town. We were more prepared this time than the last. We bought one of those net tents to keep the bugs out, brought a grill, and of course brought the generator and two fans and a mister. We really know how to rough it huh? We had a really good time though, just getting to hang out and relax. Alex actually rode the jet ski and of course fell asleep, just like he does on boat rides. I'll have to get those pictures from Uncle Jeremy's camera.

Grandma and Aunt Amy relaxing in the water. We are so happy, Aunt Amy is having a little boy!!

Alex loves spending time with his two Aunt's.

Such a sweet boy.

He also loves spending time with his two Uncle's.

Alex kept taking Uncle Chris' water bottle and once Chris got up he took his chair.

Who knew playing in the sand took so much thought?

Getting ready to go on the jet ski. He didn't quite know what to think of his life jacket at first but once he was in the water he didn't mind it at all.

This kept him entertained for quite a while one Saturday while I was trying to clean house, don't worry I was in the kitchen with him. Alex figured out how to climb up in the chairs all by himself, and of course from there he kept trying to climb onto the table. He got his butt spanked a few times that day. He would start to put one knee up on the table and I would look over and tell him NO, he would just smile, and when he thought I wasn't looking he would try it again. A few times he said the heck with it and climbed on up on the table, I guess he thought I would spank him that hard so it wouldn't hurt to try. It's kind of hard to get your point across when those thick diapers cushion the blows.

Now he feels the need to climb up on everything he can.

Just thought I would throw this one in of Dillon, it was too cute to pass up.

Alex's babysitter gave him a huge container of lego's, so him & daddy were putting them to good use while I was cooking dinner. And for those of you wondering, yes, that is a splint on Johnny's hand. He broke a little bone in his left hand when a computer monitor fell on it. Believe me he has milked that for all it was worth, it got him out of changing diapers for about a month.

My little Kentucky Wildcat!! Thanks Crissy!
