Catchin' Up

Another year gone by - WOW! Today was Alex's 3rd birthday, so according to him he is now a BIG BOY. Here are just a few highlights from today's activities. Above is the decoration of the kitchen I did last night so that would be the first thing he saw when he walked in this morning.

His Handy Manny/Matchbox cupcake cake I made him last night.

Below is the look on his face as he woke up this morning to me and Johnny yelling happy birthday to him. I don't think it had registered yet, he was a still a bit dazed from sleep.

Now it sank in, "Oh yeah, it's my birthday" look. And yes, these are his santa pajamas that you will see in later post from Christmas. Actually these are pajamas from 2007 Christmas (they are 2T) he loves these things and continues to wear them. He looks so cute in them I can't get rid of them yet.

Cheesin' with Uncle Jeremy.

He got new big boy flip flops - he wore them all day!

How cute is this? A wonderful present from Uncle Jeremy and Aunt Erin. It even has a water bottle and a bullhorn.

This is a beautiful blanket that Grandma made Alex. Alex said now the monsters can't see him in his bed (so hopefully he will start sleeping in his own bed again).

Okay, now don't let the innocent looks on these faces fool you - these three are nothing but trouble. They have a love/hate relationship, just like brothers and sisters. We took Alex, Joey and Emma bowling today and for the most part they were pretty good, just the usual little bickers back and forth.

Getting strapped in for the ride to the bowling alley.

Okay, remember how sweet Joey looked in the previous pictures above, well, in this picture Emma was so happy that she knocked all the pins down - Joey headed straight for Emma and pushed her down. I could see it coming but I couldn't stop it, Joey was too fast. He got to sit down for a few minutes after that little trick.

This little girl should be in movies or something, she loves posing and performing for people. Here she is just striking a pose for me.

Alex on the other hand, not so much with the poses, this was his attempt.

And here she is again striking a pose after her turn bowling.

Leaving the bowling alley - they all made it in one piece!

Eating their Chick-Fil-A back at the house.

Classic, I have so many pictures of Alex with food all over his face, anyone remember his first birthday? At least he's gotten a little better.

A good way to end the evening, relaxing on the couch with Daddy & Dillon.

This is Alex opening his birthday cards from Grammy & Granny.

Money!! We love money!!

Mom & John came down at the end of February for a week with all of their Indiana gang so they came by for the weekend. Since mom's birthday was the next weekend we went ahead & had her birthday party so all the kids could celebrate it with her.

I came home for lunch one day and found Dillon had pulled my jacket of the chair and cuddled up in it for a nap. When he went to get out, he managed to go down the sleeve, however all he could get out was his little face. I laughed so hard at his attempt to back out, but that was not working, so after a few minutes of laughing and taking his picture I finally helped him out. Silly dog.

Valentine's weekend we had gone to Day town to see Aunt Lorraine. She had gotten a new puppy and Alex did not like him at all. He was so cute and all he wanted to do was play but Alex wanted absolutely no part of it. Can't you just see the terror in his face - I know it's awful, I had to take a picture before helping the poor little guy out.

Alex & Ella playing on the trampoline at Aunt Lorraine's.

This was a large group from Jeff & Malena's wedding in Miami in January. We all met for breakfast the morning after the wedding, including the newlyweds!

Like father, like son.

Bowling in Gainesville after Ella's birthday party.

The elf village at the Winter Wonderland in St. Augustine.

I think this was cotton candy all over his face.

Waiting patiently in line for the carriage ride.

Me, Alex, Kellie, Emma, Joey & Joe taking our seats for the carriage ride.

Alex helping Grandma celebrate her birthday.

Uncle Dave & Aunt Gina's neighborhood had this Winter Carnival back in December. Thankfully mom & John were down here at the time so they got to experience it with the grandkids. It was soooo cold that night, but it did not stop the kids from running and playing everywhere. They had this huge blow up bouncy house, a large projector playing Christmas classic cartoons and various other activities to keep the kids busy.

It is wonderful having awesome friends/family. For mine and Beffy's birthday's, Erin got us tickets to go to Gainesville and see Carrie Underwood in concert. Here is Erin, Beffy, Jennifer and myself posing before the concert.

Okay, I know this is bad, but I couldn't resist. These two guys sat in front of us at the concert and I just had to capture the moment of them taking pictures of themselves together. I must say, they probably spent more time on their hair than all of us girls..

Christmas time with Mom & John at Uncle Dave & Aunt Gina's.

Our neighborhood (select few) Christmas get together. Keep in mind that this was in December and we were able to wear shorts and shortsleeves - it was wonderful. We had such a good time. Mr. Danny raked pretty much the entire back yard that night for leaves to keep putting on the fire.

Alex helping Uncle Jeremy open his birthday present - a voice changer helmet of Optimus Prime. Of course that was a present from Johnny - Aunt Erin just loves it when Johnny gets Jeremy more toys...hehe...

Alex fishing in the pond behind Emma & Joey's houses.

His first fish!

Helping Uncle Jeremy open presents on Christmas Eve at Grandma & Grandaddy's. Notice the pajamas......

Santa made a stop at Grandma's Christmas Eve night to drop off Alex's fire truck!

Alex riding his cool 4 wheeler from Santa on Christmas morning, along with Ki on her brand new bike from Santa.

Our quite little street will never be the same - Joey & Alex both got 4 wheelers for Christmas.

He opened almost all of his presents while sitting on his 4 wheeler! He had so much fun and it was blast getting to watch him.
